August 21, 2007 - Saved by grace....

top of the evening, friends...

jeff collins - thank you so much for your testimony! it always brings tears to my eyes to hear someone open up about how great God is! my home email is: stafflt@sbcglobal.net . if you email me, i'll give you my home phone and address. i know you had a guardian angel with you the night of your crash, and you had a gazillion people praying for you too. that, my friend is why you're here today! may God continue to bless and protect you and your family.

good news...i went to my infectious disease dr. today for a follow-up visit. he not only took me off ALL antibiotics....he removed the pick line from my arm! additionally, i no longer have to take the daily injections in my stomach for potential blood clots! what victories! those belly shots hurt like the dickens!

we went to eat at the rice bowl afterwards...it was outstanding! i think the rice bowl is the best chinese food in the city.

last night i received visits from major bob and cheryl booker, robyn darden, jeanie kelly, and eric rowland. ironically, both brought over beautiful mums! i'm gonna have to get outside, sit on my butt and plant those things! i can't wait to get my hands back in the dirt.

major mark atkeson and s/lt. rob jackson stopped by today on their lunch break. it was nice seeing them again. mark has been so faithful about keeping me in the loop.

tom chozdin.....i didn't think you'd catch onto the fact that i was simply trying to get out of my physical...lol i forgot how smart you are!

terri west...thanks for writing every day! you too have been so faithful in trying to cheer me up. i look forward to your comments every day too!

please pray for the tpr. jack holland family - he passed away at work today from a bee sting. his family really needs all the prayers they can get.

i think i'm finally done with my last finance class project, paper, and powerpoint. i'm having someone proof it for errors before i send it to my professor. thank goodness!

well, i think the movie nazi is going to make me watch another one....so i'll write more later.

God bless you all....

Glad to hear all the good news and the continuing progression. There is no doubt with your determination you will be back to work before any of us would have guessed a month ago. You continue to amaze me everyday.

"Power consists in one's capacity to link his will with the purpose of others, to lead by reason and a gift of cooperation."
Woodrow Wilson, letter to Mary A. Hulbert, September 21, 1913 - 28th president of US (1856 - 1924)

What powerful will you have, too. Checking in daily to see your progress is refreshing. Makes the problems I may have seem minute and unimportant. You are a strength to all of us who think our lives are missing something. Continue to heal and get strong as you have been. My prayers continue to be for you and Mary, your families, and your continued recoveries.

p.s. 3021 is right, soggy isn't the word! The youngest T got lost going to work in Mansfield trying to detour around all of the lakes on the roads.

Good morning Major,
Great news!!! Another Victory!!
Although I'll bet that Trish was enjoying giving you those stomach injections. LOL !!! Those had to really hurt. Terry, Trish AND Di ARE truly amazing blessings and Lisa is so fortunate to have you in her life!!
I have learned so much from you in the past several years, but especially in the last few months about faith and life. You continue to amaze me with your spirit and determination. Here you are recovering from severe injuries, and you are still thinking and praying about others. It really brings a tear to my eyes. All of us out here are learning life and faith lessons from you that we will carry with us.
I am certain that you and Mary will be back to full duty in no time and stronger than before.
Hey, why does Amy have a blue collar on in the picture? She should have a pink one on like Chrissy? I'll bet with all of these storms, Amy was sleeping underneath you. Aren't animals incredible? they know when we are hurting and always give us unconditional love!! Especially when you give them those tender chicken treats!! LOL!!!!
Well, I gotta go sweetie. I will see you soon.
Love you !!

Thanks for your kind comments, biker chick! But it really is a pleasure to both pull up and read and write in your blog. Like I said, it always makes my day!
And hearing that you are off the antibiotics is such GREAT news! Whoo hoo! When you said you were taking shots in the belly, I KNEW those had to hurt a LOT! Poor girl!
I'm yawning this morning--was up early with my one kitty girl who is SO scared of storms. Have been trying homeopathic drops to calm her--takes LOTS of drops and petting and calm talking, but I think it's beginning to help--poor little one.
You sure are rolling right along, woman! You and Mary will both be back "on the road again" in no time at all! Everyone will definitely stand and cheer when that happens.
Will definitely send up prayers for the Holland family. What a shock out of the blue.
You and Mary keep on truckin' like you have been. You are both so amazing!

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Good afternoon, Ms. Lisa:

What great news! It is fantastic to hear about the progress you have made. We are so happy for you and love to share your stories with friends.

Another fellow motorcyclist, Patrolman Cory Winfield, was hit by a drunk driver Sunday morning in Marion on his way home after his shift ended at 1 AM. You may have read about him in the paper. His brother, Brandy, was killed in the line of duty 3 years ago when he was shot while helping someone. Cory has suffered a serious break to his pelvis and a head injury. He was flown to Grant Hospital and will be there for awhile, it appears. They are worried about the swelling of his brain right now. Knowing the prayer warrior you are, please say one for him and his family.

We think of you daily and continue to pray for your recovery. It is wonderful to read all of the blog messages. Keep positive and moving forward! Don't get too dirty planting those mums!

Blessings back to you,
Butch and Brenda

It's good to hear that you are off the antibiotics and don't have to take the shots in the stomach anymore. Ouch!!! Keep up the good work. Prayers are coming in and going out, just like a wave, feeding your spirit and others. Isn't it amazing how God works. There is mystery and beauty, the element of surprise and the great comfort of peace in knowing that you are in God's hands. Your faith continues to speak volumes, Lisa. You are an inspiration and a beacon to others. My sincere best wishes for you and Mary on the continuing recovery process and the hope for good things yet to come. Thanks to your caretakers too, because their devotion and care are a comfort to you. We know you are in good hands all the way around.

Love you lots!
Cindy
