top of the morning friends.....
well, i had all intentions of going to church today....but just wasn't up to it yet. i did, however, have a big day yesterday. we went to the bank, walmart, lunch and to the hairdressers. by the time i got home, i had to take a 2 hr. nap! whew....it just wore me out!
i received a very nice call yesterday from colonel jack walsh. he was the first colonel i worked under, so i was extremely honored that he called to check on me. what a leader and a gentleman! we talked about how special the 'patrol family' was.
i think tanya benner and her dad are coming to see me today. i warned her about what a wreck my house is...lol
thanks to nurse paula marr, and her husband for the wonderful homemade chicken soup and oatmeal cake! they stopped by for an unexpected, but very appreciated visit last night.
i talked to mary last night. she is really, really bored, but doing okay. she, like me, is used to being very independent, so this is tough for both of us. we've never had to rely on others to do things for us. we're very appreciative of all the help, but we can't help but think we're imposing. i'm sure you understand.
kevin and becky teaford - bless their hearts....came over and walked the girls for me. i think amy was going through 'becky withdrawal.' amy really has an affinity for becky. i think the feeling is mutual for becky.
my sister is coming up again today. i think we might just grill out some hamburgers. my meds seem to be keeping food down...i just don't have much of an appetite. i'm trying not to look like a cambodian refugee!
i hope you all have a very blessed sunday!

Hi, Lisa!
Yeah, it sure is funny after your body has been through trauma/surgery how what formerly was just a simple day running errands and doing chores can REALLY wipe you out! Even just getting ready to go out (trying to get cleaned up while keeping your wounds and dressings dry) can really wear you out. I'm sure you are one tired puppy today, girl. So make sure to take it extra easy today!
I know what you mean about you and Mary feeling like you are imposing, but trust me, you're not. All your friends and family who love you are more than happy to do all those things for you. Helps to give back a little and to be able to show love for you! But I know what you're saying when you are used to being independent and always doing things for yourself how hard it is not to be able to and to have to ask for help (that is the hardest part sometimes, isn't it???? I know, I hate to do that as well). But sometimes, you just have to ask for help. And as you see, God has provided you with so many to help. I think that sometimes he uses times such as these to show us just exactly how many people love us and care about us and just how many really GOOD people there are in the world. If you just listen to or read the news, they always stress the BAD people. But I think the good way outnumber the bad--they just don't get as much press!
Have a good time grilling out today and just CHILLIN'! Believe me, you will need to after running your errands yesterday. It will be quite a while before your strength and stamina build back up to where they were. So take it easy, girl!
Hope you have a great day!

Darlin, what to come visit, but have felt puny all weekend, so don't want you sick. You and Mary are always in my thoughts and prayers and I did make it to church last night, so the extra prayers were said again for you both. You both are strong independent ladies, but we all want to help in any way we can.
Love you, Tom, Wendy and Alan
Good evening Major, I am catching up so I apologize for not blogging. I had my granddaughter this weekend and just took her home. It still amazes me how men can't hold the babies on their hips and cook at the same time, whats up with that??? When she starts fussing, Bill starts calling out my name. kinda funny:-) Anyhow she is home now with her mom and dad. She is so damn cute!! Took her to mass today and she was so good. She is going to be a Doctor when she grows up you know. She tried to get my sip of wine at mass too.(we aren't going to have that LOL !!!! forgive me Lord !!
Great open house last Friday at BG. It is truly amazing what we can do I am always impressed. I just love talking to the old-timers as they have the best stories about the history of the old post and the people in the surrounding community. I am so proud and humbled to be a part of this organization.
Col. Collins mentioned you as well in his speech so you were there in spirit Major.
I was truly worried about Trish daughter last Friday night, when it rains it pours, so thanks for giving us the update.
You and Mary continue to be an inspiration for us all and your prayer warriors are here for you. Oh and yes nurse Paula and I have dubbed a new club out here the Food Warriors!! whatcha' think?? I think that we had better get you a small upright freezer for your garage so we can store food for you. Does anyone out there have a spare that they aren't using or a frig. that we can stick in the garage temporarily???
Hey gotta go love and you take it easy I will talk to you tomorrow and see you very soon!!!
Hi Lisa,
You are very welcome for the treats! We're glad that things are staying down, because passing up chocolate would be very hard!! Keep your head up, you are doing great!! All the best and you are in our prayers...

Hi Lisa:
Lynn & I saw Colonel Collins and Brenda the other night at a function and they told us about your blog - excuse me, but we are not from the "blog generation" if you know what I mean. In any event, Brenda emailed your blog address and we will try to keep up with your progress as you move forward.
Please know that you and Mary have our thoughts and prayers!
Rob & Lynn Hartsell
