september 20, 2007 - He answers prayer

top of the morning, friends....

yesterday was another beautiful indian summer day, wasn't it?

a few weeks ago, one of my friends, "christy" and i were talking about motorcycling, as she shares that passion as well. i told her that i was contemplating buying a little, cheap, used convertible just to enable me to "get some wind in my hair and some sun on my face," until i am able to ride again. well, i never thought much more about it, other than checking out a few cars on eBay and Trader.com. well, a few days ago, christy called and wanted to schedule a lunch for yesterday. i, of course agreed (as you all know how much i like to eat!).

to my surprise, she showed up in a rented, black, Ford Mustang GT convertible! i won't explain how i had to contort myself into all kinds of olympic gymnast positions to get in the back seat, but i did it! (just kidding - kinda!)

we had a gorgeous day and 300 miles to eat up! wow! she took us down through hocking hills, where we ate at a BBQ place in logan, then up through a bunch of back roads to buckeye lake, where we stopped for an ice cream. what an unexpected treat, that resulted in an outstanding day! we ended the day with a "campfire" on my back deck. i have to admit, that's been one of the best, memorable days i've ever had. thanks, christy, for lifting me up and giving me a wonderful day!

with each passing day, i am humbled even more by the love and support i've been shown by my family and friends.

colonel collins & brenda - thanks again for the update on cory. i know that prayer works and that with Him on cory's side - cory cannot fail!

gail - i will most definitely pray for your cousin. please let me know his name and i'll post it on the blog so we can be specific in our prayer requests.

becky p-84 - thanks so much for the blog entry! mary and i appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. i know mary is so anxious to get back to work with you guys & gals. she always talks so highly of her "team." our "patrol family" has been tremendous!

i'll update you folks when i have more information.

blessings....

Good Morning Lisa,
I have a quote for you...This is actually one from Andy Warhol but I can see you saying this and well when you read it you will see why it is so fitting for you... "They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them for yourself." Lisa you are an inspiration for many! Mary I hope all is going well for you and that you are back soon!

Wow!
What an AWESOME day! That would be great any time, but especially when you've been injured, are working hard at recovery, and have been cooped up inside! I know the feeling you are talking about... just to get outside and feel the fresh air and the wind blowing on you and all around you! Aaaahhhhhhh! That's an awesome feeling for sure!
She is definitely some friend for having done that for you. But you are also "some friend", and that is why so many want to do so much FOR you! Nice begets nice! And I know all of your friends and loved ones enjoy being able to help you and do things for you! It's always a pleasure to be able to help out nice folks!
Both of you definitely deserve all the wonderful things that others do for you! So just let everyone help you! :)

Have a great day (although it would be hard to top the one that you described for sure!)

Cuz,

I have tried numerous times to respond to your blog I guess I am just a blittering idiot when it come to computers! Of course I had to get Ricky to help me out!

I have been getting updates from your blog and also from Pacuzzi. I must say I am amazed at your postive attitued and I beleive that is everything.

As I head to the conference this year, both you and Mary will be going with me and I want you to know you both will be missed! However, next year the both of you will be there in person and we will have one heck of a time!

Viewing your injury photos, I can only iminage the pain and agony you have suffered but still you maintain that postive attitude. As everyone has stated you really are an inspitation for all of us!

I will send more on a later date. Now let's see if I can master this and actually get it posted!

Hugs and kisses Cuz

Well I have been gone a few days but I have returned from Vermont. What a beautiful state. I am sure in some of your bike travels you have been there. If not I recommend it in the coming year. A friend near Burlington would love to have guests. Nice pictures.....Not for the soft stomach. I am so happy about the improvement from the earliest picture to the second picture. Be strong, keep your head up and...
